2、 The carding process of the cotton layer by the roller:
1. Sorting method: Hold and comb
2. Sorting process: Three stages
(1) Combing stage: The tail end of the cotton bundle is firmly held, and the head end is punctured and divided;
(2) Sorting stage: sawtooth and fiber produce relative slip and friction, resulting in combing (fiber straightening, lateral separation);
(3) Decomposition stage: As the cotton bundle is fed, the grip on the end of the same cotton bundle gradually weakens, and the sawtooth grabs the cotton bundle - the cotton bundle decomposes.
3、 Factors that affect the effectiveness of sorting
1. Spinner speed:
The speed of the roller is high, and it combs well, but it damages the fibers too quickly.
2. Sawtooth specifications:
(1) Working angle: small, conducive to combing, not conducive to impurity removal;
(2) Tooth density (horizontal and vertical): large, with good separation degree.
(3) Tooth tip height: large, strong puncture ability, but low strength;
(4) Tooth tip angle: small, with strong needle puncture ability.
3. Relative position between the needle roller and the cotton feeding board:
(1) The high and low positions of the stabbing roller and the cotton feeding board raise the cotton feeding board, increase the length of the combing process, shorten the support surface, and decrease the combing effect.
(2) The spacing between the needle roller and the cotton feeder is small, resulting in good combing effect but increased short fibers.
4. Cotton feeding method:
(1) Reverse feeding (down feeding cotton): The feeding direction of the cotton layer is opposite to the direction of the carding roller, which can easily damage the fibers.
(2) Forward feeding (up feeding cotton): The feeding direction of the cotton layer is the same as that of the carding roller, resulting in less fiber damage.
